Oracle Cloud
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is the public cloud of Oracle. It offers compute instances, virtual cloud networks, Object Storage, databases and a managed Kubernetes service (OKE). Resources are organized in compartments and identified by long identifiers called OCIDs.
Key concepts #
- Compartment: a logical container for resources, used for access control and cost tracking. The tenancy is the root compartment.
- VCN: the virtual cloud network, equivalent to an AWS VPC.
- oci provider: the provider for Oracle Cloud, with API key, security token and instance principal authentication.
