HCP Terraform

HCP Terraform adds remote state with locking, remote runs, a private module registry, variable sets, access control and policy checks. OpenTofu users often choose an S3 backend or another platform instead.

Key concepts #

• Workspace: one state with its variables and runs. Not the same as a CLI workspace.
• Run: a plan and apply executed by the service.
• Policy as code: Sentinel or OPA checks.
