**Kubernetes** (K8s) schedules containers on a cluster, restarts them when they fail, scales them and routes traffic to them. You declare the desired state in YAML and its controllers make the cluster match it. Managed versions include [Amazon EKS](https://www.itwonderlab.com/aws-eks/).

### Key concepts

- **Pod**: the smallest unit, one or more containers sharing network and storage.
- **Deployment** and **Service**: keep replicas running and give them a stable address. See [NodePort](https://www.itwonderlab.com/nodeport-kubernetes-cluster/).
- **Ingress**: HTTP routing into the cluster, for example with [Traefik](https://www.itwonderlab.com/traefik/).
- **kubectl**: the command line client of the API server.
- **Helm** and **Argo CD**: package and deliver applications. See [Helm](https://www.itwonderlab.com/helm/) and [Argo CD](https://www.itwonderlab.com/argo-cd/).
