**DigitalOcean** is a cloud for small and medium projects, with a short list of services and simple pricing. Its virtual machines are called **Droplets**. It also offers VPC networks, cloud firewalls, Spaces object storage, managed databases and Kubernetes (DOKS).

### Key concepts

- **Droplet**: a virtual machine, created from an image and a size.
- **Cloud firewall**: filters traffic outside the Droplet, attached by ID or by tag.
- **Spaces**: S3-compatible object storage.
- **digitalocean provider**: the [provider](https://www.itwonderlab.com/terraform-provider/) for DigitalOcean. Authenticate it with an API token.
