**Amazon EventBridge** receives events (JSON documents) on an **event bus**, matches them with **rules** and delivers them to **targets** such as [Lambda](https://www.itwonderlab.com/aws-lambda/), [SQS](https://www.itwonderlab.com/aws-sqs/), [SNS](https://www.itwonderlab.com/aws-sns/) and [Step Functions](https://www.itwonderlab.com/aws-step-functions/). Most AWS services emit events to it, for example an EC2 state change or a [GuardDuty](https://www.itwonderlab.com/aws-guardduty/) finding. It also offers scheduled rules (cron), the EventBridge Scheduler and Pipes.

With Terraform: `aws_cloudwatch_event_rule`, `aws_cloudwatch_event_target` and `aws_scheduler_schedule`. It was previously part of [CloudWatch](https://www.itwonderlab.com/aws-cloudwatch/) Events.
